    Lone

I’m not sure what it is about our society, however the older one becomes the more alone one feels. As if as time goes not, we forget how to connect to other people. Or simply no longer need others so why bother with the hassle of dealing with the mess of community living.

I recently, participated in an artists reaserch project, with this question in mind. Spending an hour in a darkened room, speaking with a complete stranger about loneliness. Was quite intriguing, but also lonely in its own way. A sort of forced moment on intimacy with someone one is unlikely to meet again.

One wonders have we become more lonely, or has this always been the case with adults in their 30’s mid career madness. When all they seem to do is work.
Where our parents and grand parents as lonely? Or where their lives too fold with raising a family to feel as lonely. That however one suspects carry’s with it its own set of isolations, being at home without adult stimulation.
