Life right now can adequately be described as chaos in a handbasket. Who knows if anything will be done on time or at all. Also I need a long long long break.

How long is a ball of string

It has occurred to me recently, that the problem many people face in the world is boundaries. Take my students for example, I say no, and they say but why? 

Now the long answer is, if I permit you to resubmit, I will have to allow that for the remainder of the year, you will not learn the lesson, and I may well have a nervous breakdown at some point from managing 1000 stagared submissions. 

Parents, kindly teach you kids that sometimes when you mess up, that is the lesson. Rather it happens now than for a final exam.

But sometimes, Some times the answer is, how long is a ball of string.

How to be an anarchist

It seems these days, it is not a high bar. There are it seems so few people willing to challenge the status quote. 

However beginning is easy 

1. Get out of bed

2. Give a crap 

3. Do something about it.

The hard part of course is to act. However one may begin small, speak up, take notice, do small acts which are in your power to do.

Meltdown

Meltdown •

I wonder at those not constantly on the verge of perpetual meltdown •

When the proverbial ice cream cone of the world has fallen to the floor. With hope of silver bullet vaccines, dwindling and huge and irreparable recession growing. While the west plays on, it's desperate tune, unaware that the ice cream has plummeted .

It's been a bit of a melty two weeks, perhaps something about the prospect of another year of sameness, or the futility of constricted pay, and increased workloads, for the sense of pointlessness in planning for futures which seem wholely uncertain or probably none existent. Given the lack of vaccines to end our current crisis which drags on unrelenting.

Suspicious activities

So my walk today was regarded with deep suspension by everyone I passed, three people stopped to check that I was okay 🤣. So I know when I'm engaging in suspicious white people activities, like walking in a tropical cyclone apparently? (it's not as if we're in the eye of the storm mostly just the wet and deluged edge bit). Also I like being outdoors in the wet. 

I get to roam the streets alone.

A guide to phd writing

So it's been a year or more since I last posted• 

For all five of you that still like an read this blog. I shall endeavour to draw with some frequency.

As you can tell my time has been otherwise occupied with, a PhD and being all serious and grown-up and stuff.

However 2020 + 2021 a pear to be cut from the same shitty cloth so there is room of satire, laugh or cry.
